Who we are

Celena Brown is the founder of Heal Breathe Yoga. She is proudly a Black woman, a lover of beauty, and a powerful thinker whose teaching is rooted in self-understanding, healing, and empowerment. She believes our purpose as living beings is to awaken to our truest selves and help others do the same. Through yoga, Celena guides students to connect mind and body through breath and movement, offering tools to navigate both their inner and outer worlds with awareness and grace.

Celena discovered yoga as a college freshman after navigating a turbulent high school experience. Struggling with fear, anxiety, and anger, she learned to use her breath as an anchor in moments of intensity. As a psychology major, she was fascinated by the way yoga helps trauma survivors heal by balancing the nervous system. That discovery felt like uncovering a secret key to human existence—one she felt called to share with her community and loved ones. Yoga has remained the core of her healing journey and her greatest teacher of self-discovery.

After college, Celena became an English teacher and later earned her yoga certification through Breathe for Change, a non-profit organization that trains educators in yoga as an act of education reform. Her passion for the practice led her to India, where she embarked on a transformative 31-day solo journey to complete her 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training. It was there that she began to understand yoga not just as a physical practice, but as a complete lifestyle.

Now based in Central Florida with her husband, daughter, and two cats, Celena continues to expand her work as both a teacher and guide. She leads yoga classes, develops continuing education programs for yoga teachers, and creates group healing experiences designed to reconnect people with their internal and external nature. Through her offerings, Celena invites students to move, feel, and remember their wholeness—on and beyond the mat.
